Mike Wells joined Business Environments in January 2023 as the Managing Director of Business Development and is involved in every aspect of Business Environments client development efforts, sales, and growth strategies for the firm. 

Mike is a creative and innovative senior leadership professional with multiple years of successful leadership in the dynamic Atlanta commercial real estate market. He has extensive experience in leasing, brokerage, acquisitions, finance, and development and is proficient in the end-to-end leasing process. Mike is passionate about providing unique spaces within budget while ensuring business prosperity ownership. He is highly skilled in client relations, portfolio management, asset marketing and underwriting, lease negotiation, business development, property and vendor management, brokerage agreements, building improvements, and compliance and risk assessment.

Mike holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Real Estate from The University of Georgia, where he graduated with honors and holds a Georgia Real Estate Commission (GREC) license. He has over 20 plus years of professional experience in the field, having spent the majority of his career at Highwoods Properties (REIT), where he served as the Senior Director of Leasing from 2021-2022 and Director of Leasing from 2008-2021. In his role, Mike was responsible for all aspects of marketing and leasing a 6M+ square foot portfolio of 20+ Atlanta office buildings, with an annual revenue of +/- $130M and managed an JV partnership (+/- 1M SF). He executed 1.4K+ lease transactions, generating $2.2B+ and led strategic negotiation of transactions from initial tour to move-in.  Mike also is an advocate for Diversity & Inclusion and implemented the first Diversity & Inclusion Summer Internship Program for in-house Commercial Real Estate training program initiative in his previous role.
